Today, April 16th, from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M., the Broncobot’s will be hosting a fundraiser at Lee’s Summit North High School in the parking lot. The team is partnering with Bob Sight Ford to host this Drive One 4 UR School Event. People who are 18 and older who have a valid driver’s license can test drive a car at North and for each test drive, the team earns $20. Each person who test drives also gets free lunch and a chance to win a $100 Best Buy gift card. Lunches will also be avaliable for $3. Even if you can’t test drive, stop by and show your support for the team!

The 2011 season was a great one for Team 1987! We returned from the Midwest Regional in Chicago, Illinois with the Website Award and the Quality Award sponsored by Motorola. The team finished 3rd seed  and got to compete in finals with Team 16 and Team 3067. Overall, we played a great game and were extremely satisfied with this season’s results. Thanks to Team 16, Team 3067, our sponsors, mentors and parents. Also, a huge thanks go out to Team 1986, Team Titanium, for welcoming us home at 4 in the morning! After tons of qualification matches yesterday, the team is currently 6th seed. The standings can be found on the FIRST website under regionals (or click here). Also, we won the award for Best Overall Website! Thanks to everyone who has competed with us in qualification matches so far! This morning, we have more qualification matches before alliance selection and finals!

We’re finally here! Practice matches have just started and many of the robots here are in the inspection phase. Basic scouting has begun and the team is looking forward to qualification matches tomorrow!

We’ve arrived in Chicago. The team spent hours upon hours on the road today and stopping for lunch before going to the hotel. After checking in, the team went to a local mall for dinner and hung out before returning to the hotel for team meetings. The team’s leaving bright and early tomorrow for the first day at the regional.
