Robot repairs?

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Tonight I got to do a small replacement of the limit switch. And I greased up the little thing that gets latched when setting the catapult. Then we went to the lobby of a gym to test. Finding a spot in school that can withstand the robot is quite difficult.

Ever wonder what it looks like up close??

To check to see if the tusks were getting power when we didn’t need them to, (which was in turn not good for the front motor) we used a voltmeter to see if they were getting power. I got to run the controllers! Cool, right!!

I got this, don’t worry.

Ever seen a cat smile? Here’s one.

By the way, team, we still need to do some work on the trim. : ) And it needs to be done soon, CowTown ThrowDown is coming up!

Broncobots at Elementary School Carnival

Saturday, October 18th, 2008

Friday night the Broncobots made an appearance at Hazel Grove Elementary School’s annual carnival. We always love getting out to elementary schools to show the younger students what they can do in high school and expose them to science and technology. Thank you Hazel Grove for having us!

Here are some people watching the Mammoth capture the ball.

Explaining something :D

Laura ROCKS!!!!

Logan explaining the controllers to a young robotics fan who has a team in the Vex League held by Team Driven.

Explaining how the robot was built

Don’t forget about the CowTown ThrowDown, NOVEMBER 1st, at Cerner Corporation. We will be competing with 26 other Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas teams in FIRST Overdrive.

Broncobots in the Homecoming Parade

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

These are from two weeks ago, I believe. Sorry for the delay! Been very busy around here.
The Broncobots had a float in the LSN Homecoming Parade friday afternoon. We definitely got the word about robotics; lots of people in the community know there is a robotics team now! Represent!!!

Today, we had 3 students and one mentor go to a “Massive Mini” robotics seminar held by Liberty’s robotics team. I attended a presentation on the specifics about the Chairman’s Award presented by team 1108 from Paola, who has won the award many times. Jacob went to a seminar about Drive Systems and Pneumatics, while Cameron went to a talk about the new programming platform, Labview. Thank you to everyone who held this very informative seminar; we really appreciate it!

Don’t forget about the CowTown Throwdown, October 31st and November 1st at Cerner Corporation! November 1st is the actual matches, so come out and watch 24 local KC teams compete in Overdrive (2008’s robotics game) just like we all competed at our regionals! Visit http://cttd-robotics.com/ for more information! We are very excited; this reminds me, I need to get copies made of our robot technical brochure….. anyway please come out and see what FIRST is all about! If you’ve never been to a regional, come to this mini regional and witness the excitement in a fun offseason competition!

Come see THE MAMMOTH in action!

See the robot that competed in the world championships in Atlanta competing for the ‘FIRST’ time locally! (And in a totally for fun environment, how perfect!)

Also, in my Intro to Web Design class in school, I made a Broncobots fan site :D
Visit it here
Laugh at how not pro I am at webdesign :D :D :D
