5 Days until Kick-Off!

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Preparing the build site continued through the weekend. A HUGE HUGE HUGE help to Cameron and his mom for EVERYTHING. Seriously, whenever you see them, you need to thank them. In addition to the cleaning and sorting they did yesterday, they came to the build site today bright and early and cut up and hauled away the junk from the outside. And Cameron got on the roof and patched up a huge hole.

Getting on the roof was a first for us. It was SO MUCH FUN. I think, at least.
This is how my day went:
I took some pictures.
Threw off a huge branch.

I had a good day.

Almost Kick-off

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

The Lee’s Summit Robotics Teams made press in the KC Star about the upcoming pancake breakfast kick-off on Saturday, December 27.

Also, a huge thanks to the Davis’s for the awesome carpet for the entry way and for fixing the alarm.

Kayla came over to the build site on Saturday to help Tom rug doctor the carpets in the build site. When the build site sits empty for so many months, the carpets get kind of icky. Now the entire house smells like a pool from all the soap used in the rug doctor!!

THANK YOU TO HY-VEE FOR ALLOWING US TO BORROW THE RUG DOCTOR!!!
Welcome Hy-Vee to our official sponsors list on the Broncobots website! http://www.teambroncobots.com then click on sponsors on the left hand side.

Now we have all the contents of the back rooms in our main building room until the back rooms dry. Who knew the programming room and computer room had so much stuff?

8 days until the kick off!!!!

Almost kick-off!

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

The build site has been worked on by many parents on the team and we’ve had help from many businesses so far this offseason to be prepared for our build season. We’re also stocked and ready to go foodwise thanks to people on the team who brought goodies!

On the other hand, we could use some work on the programming room!

Tom H and Doug E have also been working on sealing up the windows so air can’t escape inside. It’s definitely warmer!

Randy D and Tom have also been working on the heater, which wasn’t working. After some calls and outside help, its up and warming!! I’m excited for a toasty build season!

Don’t forget about the kick-off! About 9 days away!!

Firstly, the Freeze Out scheduled for Friday has been postponed until early 2009.

Secondly, we had a meeting last week. The Broncobots have adopted two local families and fufilled their Christmas wishes.  More pictures of that to come.

We showed  off the new control system we built to the parents.

In addition, today our robot along with Team Driven’s robot appeared at Honeywell along with a few of our mentors. They had a presentation recruiting new members. Stats coming soon :)
